League Two Team Of The Season – So Far

The Football League is well into one of its busiest and most traditional periods of the season, and teams face up to four games in ten days.

The festive period can make or break a season, with strong starts wilting and lost causes suddenly gaining hope.

Prior to the Boxing Day fixtures, we took a look at the best-performing players in League Two, according to FotMob’s stats. Players must have played at least 15 matches and fit into something like an actual formation!

Matthew Hudson – Oldham Athletic – 7.41

Hudson has so far made 21 League Two appearances this season and has managed nine shutouts and one penalty save.

Evan Weir – Walsall – 7.48

Three man of the match awards, three goals, and two assists for the Irish defender so far this season, contributing to Walsall’s position as league leaders.

Weir is an established member of the Saddlers’ squad following his move from Drogheda, and fits into this side, albeit slightly out of position!

Kyle McFadzean – Chesterfield – 7.64

The veteran McFadzean is showing no signs of slowing down, appearing in 19 of Chesterfield’s 21 League Two matches.

McFadzean has chipped in with two goals, including a last-minute equaliser at Cambridge United in a man-of-the-match display.

Jack Tucker – Colchester United – 7.43

Tucker has been an ever-present in League Two for Danny Cowley’s U’s this season.

Four man of the match awards, two goals and an assist have contributed to his 7.43 rating and his side’s eyes are firmly set on a playoff charge.

Sanders is enjoying the most productive season of his career, scoring three and creating a further four goals for a Crewe side hanging on to the playoff pack.

He has also done some great work defensively, making 116 recoveries and making 16 interceptions.

Sammy Braybrooke – Newport County – 7.39

Newport County may be five points from safety and rooted to the foot of the League Two table, but Sammy Braybrooke is doing his reputation no harm.

The on-loan Leicester City man has made 609 successful passes with an accuracy of over 82% and has made 122 recoveries to help his side.

Harry Anderson – Colchester United – 7.39
