League One is really shaping up for an exciting second half to the season.
Prior to Boxing Day, we took a look at the top-performing players in the division according to FotMob’s statistics.
Players must have played a minimum of 15 games, and some may have been selected to fit a formation!
Filip Marschall – Stevenage – 7.38
Marschall looks to be enjoying a permanent home at Stevenage after several loans from his previous club, Aston Villa.
The 22-year-old commands his box well, making 33 high claims and preventing over two goals on his way to seven clean sheets.
Charlie Goode – Stevenage – 7.53
Another member of the Stevenage back line, perhaps unsurprisingly, when the club have the best defence in the division.
Goode has been successful in 74% of his duels and 79% of his aerial duels and has proven to be a key member of the Stevenage side.
Jason Kerr – Wigan Athletic – 7.41
Kerr has performed well personally in a Wigan side that has struggled to find its rhythm.
The 28-year-old has chipped in with one goal and has won 72% of his duels, won 63 aerial duels and made 16 blocks.
Max Conway – Bolton Wanderers – 7.47
Conway has established himself in the Bolton side after several temporary moves away from the club.
He has started all of the 20 matches he has been involved in, adding one assist to 705 successful passes, 29 interceptions and 98 recoveries.
Lewis Wing – Reading – 7.54
Experienced midfielder Wing has been a consistent performer for the Royals since joining from Wycombe.
He has provided five goals and three assists in League One this season as Reading are again struggling in the bottom half of the division.
Oliver Norwood – Stockport County – 7.86
Norwood is the standout performer in the third tier, leading the league in accurate long balls, successful passes and chances created.
The former Sheffield United man has provided four assists for his team and added four goals for himself as the Hatters chase automatic promotion.
Jamie McDonnell – Mansfield Town – 7.41
McDonnell impressed last season on loan in League Two with Colchester United and has continued his fine form with Mansfield Town.
The newly capped Northern Ireland international has scored twice but has contributed with tackles, recoveries and duels won.
Amario Cozier-Duberry – Bolton Wanderers – 7.45
Six goals and six assists before Boxing Day for the on-loan Brighton & Hove Albion winger have helped Wanderers to mount a serious promotion challenge.
Rubin Colwill – Cardiff City – 7.39
Colwill is expected to be out of action for a few months, but has contributed to Cardiff’s march to the top of the table with three goals and three assists.
His passing accuracy is above 80% and the 23-year-old has created 29 chances and embarked on 21 successful dribbles.
Lorent Tolaj – Plymouth Argyle – 7.30
Tolaj has 11 goals to his name so far this season in a struggling Argyle side, with four in his last three prior to Boxing Day.
The former Port Vale man has a dribble success of 80% and created 15 chances for his teammates.
Yousef Salech – Cardiff City – 7.25
Danish forward Salech has been involved in 14 goals this term, scoring 10 of those himself as the Bluebirds have taken the lead in the promotion race.
He earned one of his two Man of the Match awards during the 3-2 home win over Huddersfield Town, where he contributed two goals and an assist to help his side secure a vital victory.
